Xiaomi may not launch Mi 7 at MWC 2018

Xiaomi may not announce its long-time rumoured Mi 7 at the Mobile World Congress 2018 next month. The information comes from a source close to the Chinese smartphone manufacturer who also claims that Xiaomi may not have any major announcements this MWC and save them for future instead. Meanwhile, another report that appeared on the Chinese micro-blogging site — Weibo last week hinted at the coming of the successor of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, aka Mi Mix 2S ahead of MWC.

Previous rumours suggested that the Xiaomi is looking forward to announcing a range of smartphones both budget and flagship at MWC 2018. However, shutting them, now a new report claims that Xiaomi could only unveil Mi Mix 2S and its new proprietary Surge S2 chipset. It seems Xiaomi is no longer looking forward to making any major announcements at MWC, apart from the Mi Mix 2S which the – if the reports are to be taken seriously — may go official a couple of days ahead of MWC.

At the MWC, which is to kick-start on February 26, the only announcement that Xiaomi could make is Surge S2 chipset. This means that Xiaomi is saving the Mi 7 or Redmi Note 5 or the Mi Note 3 for the foreseen future, and hence, we may not see the devices go official anytime soon. This could be Xiaomi’s strategy to skip major announcements at MWC obviously because its rivals like LG, HTC and Huawei are prepping up to launch their flagship devices — G7, U12, and P11 respectively. Also, how can we forget the Galaxy S9 and S9+ that will be the stars of Samsung’s MWC event? Then there’s Sony that’s gearing up to announce Xperia XZ Pro and HMD Global who’s planning to unveil a couple of phones like Nokia 9, Nokia 7 Plus, and Nokia 1.

Coming to the handset that Xiaomi is expected to launch ahead of MWC — Mi Mix 2S — which is expected to come with nearly 100 per cent bezel-less display and is said to see major improvements in camera, software and also hardware departments compared to the previously announced Mi Mix 2. The design of the upcoming Mi Mix 2S is expected to be somewhat similar to that of the Mi Mix 2, and the fingerprint sensor could sit at the back side next to the single rear camera. There are no more details available about the phone as of now.

For now, we are not sure about the launch timeline of the Mi 7. But, all that we know is that the phone could go official in the next couple of months. The smartphone is expected to come with a 18:9 display, powered by Qualcomm’s latest processor — Snapdragon 845, have dual cameras set up at the back and run on Android Oreo. Meanwhile, another report that leaked last week suggests that the smartphone could come at a starting price of around $475.

Flex-engine bikes running on bio-fuels to hit Indian markets soon, says Nitin Gadkari

Two major bike makers are expected to soon come up with electric and flex engine motorcycles in the Indian markets, according to Union minister Nitin Gadkari.

A flex-fuel or dual fuel vehicle is capable of operating on both petrol and ethanol.

Keen to promote electric vehicles fleet as well as vehicles on alternative fuel like ethanol, Transport and Shipping Minister Gadkari has also been emphasizing the need to enhance ethanol output in a bid to move towards ethanol- based transportation.

“By the end of this month, two two-wheeler manufactures have promised to come up with electric as well as flex-engine motorcycles which can run both on petrol and ethanol,” Gadkari told PTI.

He said both bikes are expected to hit the market soon.

“These can be run on 100 per cent petrol and 100 per cent ethanol,” the minister said.

Gadkari also emphasised the need to diversify agriculture towards power and energy by producing ethanol.

The country incurs a huge Rs 7 lakh crore on import bills of crude and if “we save even Rs 2 lakh crore out of this by indigenous ethanol, it will turn around the agriculture economy,” the minister said.

Gadkari said the government is working towards policies to encourage ethanol, which can be easily produced from wheat straw, rice straw, bamboo and other produce.

“One tonne of rice straw can produce 280 litres of ethanol and give rise to new industries. It is not only import substitute but cost effective, pollution free and clean fuel,” he asserted.

There is a need to change the crop pattern if there is surplus crop towards ethanol production, the minister said adding when America, Brazil and Canada can run vehicles like Mercedes, BMW, Ford or Toyota on flex engine, why cant automobile players do the same here.

He said one litre of ethanol would cost about half the petrol price and urged the need for massive bamboo plantation in the North East for this.

The minister said instead of setting up refineries at a cost of Rs 70,000 crore, India could go for massive bamboo plantation to obtain ethanol.

The minister said plans are afoot to gradually convert transport to electric, ethanol, methanol, bio-diesel, bio CNG and other such means.

The minister also said electric buses will be promoted and using super capacitor technology, a charged bus can run for 36 km and will be charged in 3 minutes.

He said about a dozen companies have started manufacturing lithium ion batteries and the prices have dropped by 50 per cent and added that recently in Gurgaon a green transport fleet of 1,000 electric auto-rickshaws was launched.

Bigg Boss 11: Akash calls Arshi a ‘beggar’. Comments on her alleged friendship with Shahid Afridi

Bigg Boss 11 recently took a massively violent turn due to the rousing spat between Vikas Gupta and rapper Akash Dadlani. The two, who have lately been at daggers drawn, are spending time in the Kaal Kothri, for being the least impressive performers during the luxury budget task. And to make things a bit too scandalous, Arshi Khan was made to join the duo.

But while things got a little out of hand when things went physically violent between the men, Akash being Akash, decided to irritate Arshi by making personal remarks on her career. He calls her a beggar who doesn’t get work and roams around in search of opportunities.

“Yeh logon se jaake bheek mangti hain kaam ke lie (She goes around and begs for work),” says Akash.

He took things a bit too low when he brought Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi into the conversation and said that someone of that stature won’t even look at someone like Arshi.

For people who don’t know, Arshi rose to fame when she came out and alleged that the cricketer had sex with her. Two years ago, Arshi had claimed that she was in love with Afridi.

After rumours surfaced that she was seen with Afridi in Dubai, the model had first refuted them on Twitter saying, “I have lots of friends and relatives in Dubai and travel to Dubai very often. A lot of Pakistani cricketers are seen visiting, shopping and partying in Dubai and regular visitors to Dubai meet them often. This does not mean I am dating Afridi.”

Afridi had refuted her claims saying that he neither preferred to speak on such trivial matters nor did he have time for such “stupidities”.

Meanwhile, Vikas and Arshi are having a hard time in the Bigg Boss house post the eviction of their close ally Hiten Tejwani, who was sent home due to a historic elimination process where the housemates were asked to choose between Hiten and Splitsvilla fame Priyank Sharma.

But Vikas physically attacking Akash might land him in deeper trouble. We all want to know what the host Salman Khan has to say about the whole fiasco. Watch this space for more updates.

Vikas Gupta tells Priyank Sharma how many times he masturbated in Bigg Boss house

Disclaimer, this article is only for adults. Stop reading this if you are someone who grosses out for invading someone’s privacy.

Honestly, the reason why we all love the series Bigg Boss is because somewhere there’s a peeping tom hidden amongst all of us. Especially when it comes to celebrities, all our excitement to peep in their secret life escalates to another level. Bigg Boss is one show that gives us the chance to know all celebrated personalities, quite up, close and personal.

In a video that has been leaked on social media Priyank and Vikas are seen talking about slapping the monkey! Yes, you read it right. Without distinctly using the M word, Vikas and Priyank are talking about it.

It starts when Vikas was cleaning his hands in the washroom and Priyank enters. He questions Vikas indirectly about his obsession for onanism. The reason behind Priyank’s concern started since he noticed the absence of flush’s noise. Vikas reacts hysterically to Priyank’s claims.

Interestingly, Vikas does reveal the number of times he has pleasured himself since entering the house. He is heard saying, “I swear on anyone, ki jabse maine enter kia hai is ghar ke andar, tabse only one time (since the time I have entered this house, I have done it only once).”

Later on Priyank laughs and so does Vikas.

Bigg Boss 11: Puneesh Sharma to be eliminated tomorrow?

After the shocking eviction of TV Hiten Tejwani from Bigg Boss 11 house, the viewers of reality television show are eagerly waiting to know the answer of the big question – Who will be eliminated now from Bigg Boss in Weekend Ka Vaar? According to various polls conducted by different news websites, Puneesh Sharma has the highest chances of eviction from the BB 11 house. Puneesh got maximum votes for eviction. After Puneesh, it’s Akash Dadlani who is facing eviction from BB 11 house.

Last week, in one of the biggest surprises, popular TV actor Hiten Tejwani was evicted. Of the nominated contestants — Shilpa Shinde, Priyank Sharma, Luv Tyagi and Hiten — the 43-year-old actor was evicted out from season 11 of the show. “It (eviction) came as a shock to me. I deserved to be in the house as compared to some of them like Priyank and Luv. I think I was a threat to the other contestants. I feel people were waiting to chuck out the strong contestants. We are in the 12th week and the game will get dirty now. I would love to go on the show again, if there is an opportunity, but I will not come with revenge on my mind. I would be aware of who was good or bad to me behind my back. All I would say is, I got to see real faces,” Hiten said.

On last week’s Weekend Ka Vaar episode, there was a twist in the eviction process as host Salman Khan asked nominated contestants Hiten and Priyank to enter a secret room and wait for the eviction. The remaining contestants — Vikas Gupta, Arshi Khan, Shilpa Shinde, Hina Khan, Aakash Dadlani, Luv Tyagi and Puneesh Sharma — had to unanimously decide on who should be evicted.

“I think, a majority of them chose Priyank to stay in the house. I think Vikas, Arshi and Puneesh voted in my favour. Surprisingly, Shilpa did not vote for me. I did save her (Shilpa) once and I was not expecting her to return the favour. Competition is good, but one should compete with those of the same level. I don’t have anything against anyone. The choice was given to the house mates and they chose me (for eviction),” Hiten said.

During his stay in the house, Hiten appeared dignified and stayed calm during tough situations. He was on good terms with all the other contestants.

“I have played my game my way and I was the same on the show as I am in real life. I think, may be, I did not get into dirty games, so I was out. This game is such that all those inside the house would want a strong contender to be out. I never did anything wrong to anyone, everyone respected me on the show and I respected all of them,” Hiten said. He believes that unlike the other contestants, he was not yelling unnecessarily or picking up fights deliberately with anyone in the house, and this could also possibly be one of the reasons for his exit from the show.
